WHO WE ARE
We serve Orthodox Christians of all ethnic backgrounds and all cultural traditions. Many Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Moldovan, Serbian and Greek Orthodox Christians (among others) regularly attend services at the Monastery. Orthodox faithful of all backgrounds come here for weddings, baptisms, and other sacramental blessings. Elegant dining space and a covered portico are available for receptions. Spiritual retreats have been held here by Orthodox Christians of all jurisdictions.
Our Monastery is Fully Accessible
from the Northern and Southern Ends of Palomares Road!
It is with great joy that we report to you that southern access to Palomares Road (on which our Monastery is located at the 6.68 mile marker) was officially opened today by Alameda County for the first time since early April nearly six months ago. (See: https://www.pleasantonweekly.com/…/county-officials-reopen-…)
This means that those of you living in the South Bay or Silicon Valley can once again visit us as before by the more convenient southern approach via Fremont and Highway 84 ("Niles Canyon Road").*
Please come to see us again! We miss you!
~ Father Abbot Stephen and the Brotherhood of Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery
*The only exception is a one-day closure of Niles Canyon Road (Highway 84 between Fremont and Sunol) until 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 30.
Before Thy Cross we bow down in worship, O Master, and Thy holy Resurrection we glorify!
