DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, ALL SERVICES,
INCLUDING THE DIVINE LITURGY, WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL
PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2020
Dear brothers, sisters, and friends of Holy Cross Monastery,
With great sadness of heart, we regret to inform you that here at Holy Cross Monastery our services will not be open to the public at least through April 12, 2020 (Orthodox Palm Sunday).
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, our Archbishop Alexander has instructed us to cancel all public gatherings here between now and April 12.
Moreover, the Bay Area county health officials have ordered us all to "shelter in place" through April 7. People can be cited with a fine or even be put in jail for a misdemeanor, if they defy the order.
In his most recent guidelines, His Eminence Archbishop Alexander admonishes us that
"... these revised guidelines are in effect up to, and including, Palm Sunday, April 12, 2020. I do not make this decision lightly. However, we must do what is necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19."
With love in Christ,
+Alexander, Archbishop of Toledo
